Herb Consecration
The day before 15th August, the Ascension of the Holy Mary
One calls this Catholic feast a „women’s day“ and it particularly precious for tradition!
The 15th of August, the Ascension of the Holy Mary, marks the beginning of the year’s most important herb collection time. Herbs that are collected during this time supersede in strength all other herbs, with the exception of St. John’s Wort that is culled during the summer solstice.
A lot of magic and strength is bound with the herbal bushes!
They should help against illnesses and enchantments, matrimonial happiness and parenthood.
The binding of the herbal bushes is a real science!
Seven herbs must be always bound into a bush. Even 9, 12, 15 and 19 bushes are known; the magic number is very important here.
The herbal bushes are hanged in the house’s niche in some towns, mixed as an addition to smokes or even given to the stable animals to eat on Christmas Eve.
