Christmas Holiday – Christmastime in the state of Salzburg
The pre-Christmas period in the state of Salzburg is a time that is especially filled with events.
Many of the numerous events during this reflective time invite you to participate!
Santa Claus comes with his companions on the 5th and 6th of December! A particularly special experience! In St. Martin Santa Claus drives with the sleigh, and one can meet him at the Christmas Market during the Krampus Run in Lofer. Professional Krampus runners from other villages come in Unken and they organize a spectacular show:

Cribs Exhibition:
Visit one of the numerous cribs exhibitions or try it yourself with a crib-building course in Lofer.
Torch Hikes:
Hike by night with torches through the Christmassy decorated Lofer and meet again at the Christkindlmarkt in the city centre for a Christmas performance.
On Christmas Eve, after the Christmas Mass, one can hear the Weisenbläser, in Lofer from the Kalvarienberg, in St. Martin bei Lofer from the church and, especially nice and world-renowned, above at the church in Maria Kirchental.
