Summer im Saalachtal
Summertime is hiking time, or is it swimming time? Have your summer holidays in the Salzburg Mountains, the fresh air will do you good. It is just the same what kind of weather it is; there are numerous possibilities available for you, such as sport, hiking or recuperation. If you’re caught on a rainy day, you can visit the Alpenbad in Unken with its rich and varied offers.
An excursion to the world-famous Mozart city of Salzburg or Kitzbühel, Zell am See is even not that far away. Numerous destinations like the House of Nature, the Eisriesenwelt, the Großglockner, various mines, Mozart’s birth place and Mozart’s residence… you can visit them with any kind of weather.
The cool, fresh forests of the Salzburger Waterworld is the right choice on hot summer days. Hike along the kilometre-wide branched-out trailing network, visit the spectacular ravines; the well-built trails are suitable for everyone.
If you want sport and more action, then rush into the Saalachtal white water with rafting, canyoning, canoeing or kayaking. If this is still not enough you can then go mountain climbing in airy heights. Inline-skating is also very popular, especially with a newly asphalted hiking and cycling path with 25km in length and well remote from the streets, along streams and forests.
The family-oriented Steinbergbad Lofer can be visited for free with the summer card, how often you want, and the best time is to cool off after a long and extensive mountain tour. In Lofer you will find a Pit-Pat complex and a fitness course.
A hit for the whole family is hiking golf; with so much fun you cannot otherwise explore anywhere else in the area.
